To show our appreciation, this month, we are giving back to Canada and its vast wilderness by planting 10 trees* for every test drive taken.

PLANTING TREES WITH VERITREE.
With the help of our partners at veritree, we’re planting 10 trees* for every test drive taken in June. veritree’s mission is to help give back to nature by empowering businesses and individuals to drive positive change and work together to restore our planet. Their advanced systems allow them to monitor reforestation projects, measure impact, and respond quickly to environmental pressures affecting tree growth. HOME IS CANADA. LET’S PROTECT IT.
Deforestation and wildfires destroy habitats and deprive animals of essential food sources. Reforestation helps restore ecosystems, address habitat loss, and protect biodiversity. It also reduces flood and erosion risk, and helps extend spring snowpack, enhancing long-term water resilience. The trees we’re planting are fire-resistant varieties such as the Douglas-fir and the Ponderosa Pine, which reduce the chance of future high-severity fires by up to 50%.

PUTTING DOWN ROOTS IN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY.
BMW’s partnership with veritree will not only drive reforestation, but it will also allow us to work closely with local Indigenous communities. By partnering with First Nations, including the Cookʼs Ferry, Nicomen, Shackan, Nooaitch, Lower Nicola, Upper Nicola, and Coldwater communities, the initiative aims to drive local economic development through community-led climate solutions. The initiative will integrate Indigenous knowledge to rebuild biodiversity and sequester carbon while safeguarding cultural traditions.

Who knows. But it certainly does make an impact. A pretty big one at that.
Forests are our planet’s green lung, absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen. Reforestation helps to reduce CO2 in the atmosphere and mitigate climate change.

*BMW Canada will donate to plant up to ten (10) trees through veritree for every test drive of a new BMW vehicle at an authorized BMW Retailer in Canada between June 3 - 30, 2025, up to a maximum of 5,000 trees. This initiative will support the British Columbia Wildfire Restoration project.
